Adama announced the launch of five fungicides for cereals in Europe. The specificity of Soratel (prothioconazole), Maxentis (azoxystrobin + prothioconazole), Forapro (fenpropidin + prothioconazole), Maganic (difenoconazole + prothioconazole) and Avastel (fluxapyroxad + prothioconazole) products is the use of a special formulation.
Under the Asorbital trademark, it is a formulation "specifically designed to increase effectiveness, improving the penetration of fungicides into plants". The company did not provide information about the composition or chemical reactions involved.
“Our new enhanced portfolio of cereal fungicides is a powerful demonstration of our ability to deliver value and innovation through enhancing the performance of existing molecules with proprietary formulation technologies,” said Alex Mills, the company’s head of global fungicides.
Adama began rolling out its new cereal fungicide portfolio in 2023 with the introduction of Soratel in the UK.
Regarding Asorbital, Adama reported: "Adama's Asorbital Formulation Technology platform is a unique formulation that improves foliar penetration and systemic movement of the active ingredient within the plant, while minimizing environmental impact. Extensive field testing has demonstrated that Asorbal offers excellent control and yield benefits. With unpredictable weather and narrow usage windows for applying certain products, this technology provides greater effectiveness and sustainability and can be used to reduce application rates".
