With the delay in soybean sowing in the main producing regions of Brazil due to the lack of rain, the planting window for safrinha corn is getting narrower with each passing day, causing producers to quickly review their strategies for the next cycle. With this situation, cotton cultivation gains strength, especially given the expectation of greater profitability of the crop compared to corn.

Given this scenario, the farmer who chooses to expand the cotton cultivation area has another great ally: Smartgran, the only biological soil conditioner registered by Mapa, which aims to maximize biological and enzymatic activity, improving the agronomic aspect of the farming environment. production. The product that has the exclusive Smartbac technology, Superbac's intelligent bacteria have also proven their efficiency in cotton crops.

According to agronomist Lucas Gelonezi Fernandes de Andrade, commercial manager Mato Grosso at Superbac, in trials that began in January this year, in the production areas of Sorriso/MT and Luiz Eduardo Magalhães/BA, the product showed positive results. In these areas, the strategy was to compare the producer's standard fertilizer management with the Superbac treatment.

Study results

Management consisted of just adding an application of Smartgran to broadcast or in the sowing line to the farm's standard fertilizer. “In addition to the visual aspect, plant vigor and uniformity of the area, we observed a very large elasticity in the results, where we obtained an average increase of 15,7 arrobas per hectare, which corresponds to 6,2% in productivity”, he highlighted “ Although our database on the crop is still recent, initial performances leave us quite optimistic. The studies have also been proven in other crops, such as soybeans and corn, where our results base is more extensive”, he added.

Cotton cultivation attracts attention, as it is a high-investment crop and requires a lot of technology. And with this, being able to add another disruptive tool to the producer's management and thus allowing better productivity to be achieved, in a profitable and sustainable way. “Superbac has been looking at this market very carefully and we want to further disseminate our biotechnologies, especially in Mato Grosso”, reinforces the specialist.
