Bayer announces changes to key positions in its crop protection division

Some changes occur in February; others, in March 2024; changes involve Brian Naber, Malu Nachreiner, Oliver Rittgen, Sascha Israel, Amanda McClerren and Jessica Christiansen

Bayer reported changes to its crop protection division ("crop science"). Brian Naber assumes the role of "commercial lead" for the North America region. Jackie Applegate will retire after 31 years with the company. Malu Nachreiner will succeed Brian Naber as "commercial lead" for the Asia-Pacific region. These changes take effect from March 1, 2024. From February 1, Oliver Rittgen will serve as the division’s new chief financial officer. Kelly Gast resigns after almost 30 years with the company.

Other changes came into effect with the beginning of 2024: Sascha Israel was appointed head of product supply. Dirk Backhaus retires after 27 years at Bayer. Amanda McClerren assumes the role of "Chief Information Officer, Head of Digital Transformation and Information Technology". Jessica Christiansen assumes the role of head of crop science communications ("Head of Crop Science Communications"). Tom Armitage has left the company.

"With the new configuration of the 'crop science executive leadership team', we are perfectly positioned to further drive our regenerative agriculture vision and deliver much-needed innovations to farmers," said Rodrigo Santos, board member of Bayer AG and president of company's crop protection division ("Crop Science").
