The agronomist Marcio Santos will be the new president of Bayer's agricultural division in Brazil. He succeeds also an agronomist Malu Nachreiner, which will go to Bayer's agricultural division for the Asia-Pacific region. The changes should take place soon.

Marcio, who is also a rural producer, began his career in companies in the agricultural sector in 1992. At that time, he joined what is now Syngenta as a sales representative. He stayed with the company for more than 10 years. He then joined Monsanto in 2005 as a distribution strategy manager. He arrived at "Commercial Operations Lead-Brazil". With the purchase of the company by Bayer, he became vice president of sales ("Sales VP-Crop Science / Brazil"), a position he currently holds.

In turn, Malu Nachreiner joined Monsanto in 2004 as a sales representative. "South America Soybean & Cotton MPM Lead" has arrived. At Bayer, she took over as "SVP, Head of Regional Marketing Latam". In August 2020, she became "Country Divisional Head (CDH) Brazil-Crop Science Division". And, in November 2021, the CEO (see more by clicking: "Malu Nachreiner assumes the presidency of the Bayer Group in Brazil in November" is "Bayer's Agricultural Division presents business priorities for 2021")

In a statement, the company said: "Bayer informs that Malu Nachreiner, current leader of the agricultural division in the country, will leave his position to take over Bayer's agricultural division for the Asia-Pacific region, also joining the global executive leadership committee of the division. To lead the area in Brazil, Marcio Santos, the company's current commercial director, with more than 20 years of experience in various strategic positions within the company, takes over the chair. The changes will be implemented in March this year."

UPDATE on 10-01-2024

Regarding the changes, Malu Nachreiner said that “the opportunity for a new challenge opens doors not only for me, but for Bayer's agricultural division in Brazil, which is already starting the year with a leader who is so committed to the company's objectives and the field needs. Márcio has already held this position on an interim basis during my maternity leave and will certainly manage it well again. I’m happy to ‘pass the baton’ to someone with as many qualifications as him.”

For Maurício Rodrigues, "leader" of the Bayer agricultural division for Latin America, the changes are well in line with the company's objectives. “Márcio will continue the intense work carried out by Malu in recent years, improving our business with relevant partners, always aiming to meet the demands and challenges of our farmers”, he explains.
