Considered one of the main sectors of the Goiás economy, agribusiness is responsible for carrying out important activities, fairs and exhibitions in the State. In 2024, several events are already scheduled to provide information and guidance on the segment, promote the dissemination of rural technology and business, allow the exchange of experiences and even provide leisure and fun for the public.
The Goiana Agricultural Defense Agency (Agrodefesa) is planning a series of actions and activities this year. The main event is the 8th National Conference on Agricultural Defense (8th CNDA), which will take place from June 4th to 6th, and is expected to bring together more than 1,1 participants at the Goiânia Convention Center. The 2024 edition will be carried out by the Government of Goiás, through Agrodefesa, and by the Brazilian Society for Agricultural Defense (SBDA). The Conference already has more than 100 technical lectures and institutional meetings scheduled. It will be the first time that a state in the Midwest region will host the event.
According to Agrodefesa's Health Education manager, Telma Gonzaga, both holding and participating in events are mainly focused on promoting and strengthening health education in Goiás. “We want to show the importance of agricultural defense for society, especially in relation to the quality of the food that reaches the population's table. From before planting to post-harvest, all agricultural production is carried out by Agrodefesa. The same occurs in the animal area. Therefore, it is increasingly necessary to provide knowledge to those in the countryside and cities. And one of the ways to provide guidance is through events too”, she informs.
She reinforces that the Agency, through its team of qualified employees, will be present at forums, agricultural exhibitions, field days, workshops, auctions, lectures, academic events, rural technology fairs, among others. “We are going to talk to different audiences and talk about the work aimed at plant and animal health in Goiás. We intend to provide relevant information about health in the countryside, in agro-industries and in the trade of agricultural products, for example”, he informs.
To further expand the educational presence among producers and society in general, the Health Education Management created access on the portal (www.agrodefesa.go.gov.br), in the home menu tab, which directs to a request form of participation in an event. Through this channel, institutions, entities and other audiences can request, for example, lectures from Agency professionals or even the participation of Agrodefesa to share information at events.
An important partner of the Government of Goiás in promoting agribusiness in the State, the Faeg/Senar/Ifag/Sindicatos Rurais System also has an extensive program planned for 2024. They range from expeditions to learn about the reality of the soybean harvest on site to the biggest event in the dairy chain in Brazil. “All events are designed and planned with the aim of expanding knowledge about agriculture and breaking paradigms in relation to the sector, in addition to showing the relevance of agriculture for the countryside and the city”, emphasizes the director of Communication, Marketing and Events of the System, Michelly Mancinelli.
