Registration for the XXII Brazilian Seed Congress (CBSementes) is now officially open. Promoted by the Brazilian Association of Seed Technology (Abrates), the event will take place between the 10th and 13th of September, at the Rafain Palace Hotel & Convention in Foz do Iguaçu (PR), with the theme “Seed: raw material for sustainability ”. Participants can also submit their work for presentation by submitting their abstracts by May 24th. Interested parties must guarantee participation through the official website (cbsementes.com).

CBSementes is considered the main event in the sector in Brazil, and aims to promote an integrated debate among the most varied audiences in the seed production chain, highlighting researchers, professionals in the field, academics, rural producers, industries, among others.

Submission of works brings news

In an innovative measure, authors of this year's works will have the option of complementing their presentations with videos of up to three minutes. In addition to the traditional presentation in poster format, authors will be able to send videos on their chosen topics. These videos will be made available together with the summaries in the event’s online proceedings.

“This initiative provides an additional opportunity for participants to disseminate and promote technologies related to their work in a dynamic and engaging way”, says the president of Abrates, researcher Fernando Henning.

To recognize the merit and effort of the participants, the XXII Brazilian Seed Congress will continue to award works in three categories: undergraduate, master's and doctorate. “This award tradition highlights excellence and innovation in the field of seed science, further encouraging the advancement of research and technology in this important sector of agriculture”, he adds.

Links to these videos will be added to the end of the abstracts in the conference proceedings and must be recorded by the authors themselves and hosted on publicly accessible platforms, such as YouTube. Videos must not exceed three minutes in length and the authors are responsible for the quality of the recording, ensuring good audio and video capture to facilitate access and understanding of the content.
