Syngenta recently adopted the word "seedcare" as the name of its business unit involving biologicals in Brazil. The change was not noticed in international publications. In a recent press release, it was informed that "Syngenta Crop Protection announces the creation of the Syngenta Biologicals and Seedcare Business Unit - a new front that brings together the company's biological and seed treatment expertise."
The launch of Sygenta Biologicals was reported by Revista Cultivar on July 13, 2023 ("Syngenta brings together biological businesses under Syngenta Biologicals"). Syngenta Seedcare is a traditional brand.
Igor Lyra, Latam head of biologicals and seedcare at Syngenta, highlighted the importance of the new unit. He highlighted the potential to accelerate the development of biological innovations. Lyra also emphasized the contribution to agricultural sustainability and prosperity.
Globally, at the launch of the Syngenta Biologicals unit, the company highlighted Taegro products (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, strain FZB24); Megafol (3-0-8); and Vixeran (Azotobacter salinestris, CECT9690).
