Inmet publishes monitoring bulletin and possible impacts of El Niño in Brazil in 2024
According to the bulletin, since June 2023, observed sea surface temperature conditions have shown a pattern typical of the El Niño phenomenon.
Boa Safra announced the implementation of several innovations in the area of seed quality. The objective is to guarantee the delivery of high quality and vigorous seeds to its customers.
According to Maikely Feliceti, the company's Quality Manager, Boa Safra is committed to providing its customers with high quality and performance seeds. The manager highlights that the commitment to excellence covers three major areas: the laboratory, present in all stages of soybean seed production; the construction site, with ten greenhouses in all units and distribution centers; and research, dedicated to producing innovations and technologies for the seed area.
The seedbed emergence test is one of the main tests, and evaluates the ability of seeds to generate vigorous seedlings under field conditions. Through this test, Boa Safra obtains important information about the performance of seed lots, such as the emergence percentage, emergence speed and seedling vigor.
Thais Badú, quality leader and responsible for the construction site sector, states that “innovations in emergency testing at construction sites are another step in this direction. The company continually invests in improvements to improve its processes and ensure customer satisfaction,” she comments.
The company invested in a series of improvements to its greenhouses, where emergency tests are carried out on site. Among the main innovations are:
Boa Safra also acquired new tools to facilitate the sowing stage of the emergency test in the seedbed. They are acrylic seeders and drills with adequate depth and spacing for each crop. This ensures faster and more accurate sowing, as well as reducing the risk of errors.
The layout of the construction sites was optimized to improve the posture of employees during installation and test evaluation. The height of the beds was adjusted to reduce physical effort and the depth was reduced to reduce substrate consumption.
Among the benefits of the innovations implemented by Boa Safra in emergency testing on site are the standardization of processes, greater reliability in test results, reduction of the time needed to carry out testing, improvement of ergonomic conditions for employees and ensuring seed quality produced by the company.
