The Ford Ranger Raptor inaugurated the high-performance pickup truck segment in Brazil. It was launched last November and sold all 400 available units on the same day. Now, whoever purchases the “trail monster” will get a more equipped version. The new Ranger Raptor adds standard towing preparation, taking advantage of its ability to tow up to 2.240 kg. In addition to the hitch, seven-pin socket for electrical connection and lighting, the set includes the Pro Trailer intelligent maneuvering assistant.

“The trailer hitch increases the Ranger Raptor’s versatility for hauling gear on the trails. Its Pro Trailer intelligent maneuvering assistant, activated by the traction selector, is the same as the F-150 and allows even inexperienced drivers to maneuver the trailer with ease, following the instructions on the screen”, says Dennis Rossini, Marketing Manager at Ford.

The off-road pickup also features rear occupant alert, activated whenever the ignition is turned off to prevent children from being left in the vehicle, and is priced at R$466.500.

The fastest on the market

The Ranger Raptor was developed by Ford Performance, the brand's high-performance sports division, with an exclusive chassis, engine, suspension, wheels and tires. Inspired by desert competition vehicles, it is the fastest pickup truck on the market, both on and off-road. Its 3.0 V6 biturbo GTDI engine, with power of 397 hp and torque of 59,45 kgfm, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5,8 seconds.

It has a ten-speed automatic transmission with exclusive calibration and paddle shifter, seven driving modes and selectable steering and exhaust sound settings. Another highlight is the exclusive suspension with extended travel and Fox competition shock absorbers, with active operation, which adapt to terrain conditions.

The 17” wheels and 285/70 R17AT Continental Grabber tires, with a high profile and 33” in diameter, the front and rear locking differential, the tow hooks and the high-resistance lower protectors are part of its off-road arsenal. In addition to the oversized entry, exit, transposition and inclination angles, it is the pickup truck with the highest immersion capacity in its category, at 850 mm.

The Ranger Raptor also has a 12,4” digital panel, SYNC 4 multimedia with 12,4” screen, off-road navigator, B&O sound and 360° external lighting. Its technologies include exclusive Matrix LED headlights, with variable and directional focus, adaptive cruise control with stop & go, autonomous braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition and intersection assistants, evasive maneuvers , lane retention and centering, among others.
