Fertilizer deliveries grew 8,3% in January

The State of Mato Grosso remains the leader in deliveries, concentrating 28,6% of the total, with one million tons

Fertilizer deliveries to the Brazilian market ended January 2024 with 3,70 million tons, indicating an increase of 8,3% compared to the same month in 2023, when 3,42 million were recorded. The information is from the National Association for Fertilizer Diffusion (Anda).

The State of Mato Grosso remains the leader in deliveries, concentrating 28,6% of the total, with one million tons. They are followed by: Paraná (480), Goiás (403 thousand), Minas Gerais (344 thousand) and São Paulo (309 thousand).

National Production

National production of intermediate fertilizers ended January 2024 at 512 thousand tons. The volume represents a reduction of 9,5% compared to the same month in 2023, when 566 thousand tons were manufactured. 

Imports 

Imports of intermediate fertilizers reached 2,93 million tons in January. There was growth of 14,6% compared to the same month in 2023, when 2,55 million tons were imported.

At the port of Paranaguá, the main gateway for fertilizers, 766 thousand tons entered, an increase of 16% compared to 2023, when 660 thousand tons were unloaded. The terminal represented around 26% of total imports (source: Siacesp/MDIC).
