Paraná is the main producer of second-crop beans, with 98% of Paraná's crops having already been harvested. This is what the Harvest Progress published this week by the National Supply Company (Conab) shows.

As for corn, the aerial harvest reaches 10% in the second harvest. The cereal also shows a good recovery in productivity, going from 2.591 kilos per hectare to 5.812 kilos per hectare. Combined with the improvement in crop performance, there is also a greater planted area of the crop, reaching 2,7 million hectares. Given this scenario, production for Paraná is estimated at 15,8 million tons.

In the last month, weather conditions were favorable, with rain covering the entire state of Paraná. The exception is in the north of the state, where there was less rainfall and low water availability in the soil. Despite the occurrence of frosts in some producing regions, mainly in the mid-southern regions, the events were of low to medium intensity, in specific locations, generally at the bottom of valleys, which did not have major impacts on production.

The favorable climate also benefited the planting of winter crops. The main crop cultivated during the period, wheat already has 96% of its area planted and is in good condition. This harvest, the expectation is that cereal production will reach 3,88 million tons, an increase of 21,1% compared to the last harvest, following the improvement in productivity.
