Volvo Car Brasil announced the arrival of seven new executives to its executive board, in different areas of the company. The objective is to fulfill an ambitious mission: launch the EX30 in the country and end 2024 with twice as many sales as last year.

The change is a reflection of the expansion of scope in its Latin American operation, carried out last October, when the company became responsible for managing all Volvo importers globally and becoming Gila (Global Importers + Latin America), under the management of Luis Rezende.

“We are very proud to receive this recognition from the global team and, with this new board, we have the mission to continue creating this strong organizational culture that has brought Volvo to where it is today. If we have the right team and motivated people, we will achieve our goals and I think this team we created is ideal to continue building this”, said Marcelo Godoy, president of Volvo Car Brasil.

Seven new directors

In total, the company announced seven new directors: Tatiane Faria (Network director), João Reia (Finance director), Mirella Cambrea (Marketing director), Rita Leme (HR director for Gila), Eduardo Oshima (Post director -Sales), Ricardo Ferreira (Latam Corporate Security director) and Christian Becker Sahd (Sales director), who join Marcelo, Luciano Ferreira (Legal director) and Guilherme Galhardo (electrification head and Digital director) – both already directors for the region, and now exclusively for Brazil.

In October 2023, Volvo Car Brasil announced that the country would encompass operations in 60 countries around the world. Since then, the local structure has been preparing to embrace the new challenge. With the recent announcement, Volvo creates a specific team for the Brazil operation and reinforces its commitment to the country.

In 2023, Volvo Car Brasil registered more than 8.600 cars, consolidating the Swedish automaker's best year in Brazil. By 2024, with the arrival of the EX30, the expectation is that the company will be able to double the number of registrations in the country.
