UPL Ltd. announced the expansion of the use of the insecticide Feroce (acephate + bifenthrin). The product can now be used against the green-bellied bed bug (Diceraeus melacanthus), common corn pest. Additionally, Feroce has received approval for use on cotton and tomatoes. The CEO of UPL Brasil, Rogério Castro, highlighted that the registration was the result of studies and the rigorous regulatory process.
The green-bellied stink bug is a plant-sucking pest that is increasingly common. Combating it effectively is crucial to the profitability of agriculture. UPL Brasil's insecticide manager, Leandro Valerim, mentioned that Feroce uses Blast Technology, "an innovation from UPL". This technology brings together the best molecules on the market, resulting in a high-performance product.
Feroce is also used to combat other corn pests, such as leafhoppers dalbulus maidis. Brazilian regulatory bodies have approved the use of Feroce in new crops. In cotton, it fights the boll weevil, the caterpillar Helicoverpa armigera and the fall armyworm. In tomatoes, it is effective against thrips and green aphids. The fall armyworm has also been authorized for use on soybeans, along with the brown stink bug and the fall armyworm. On potatoes, Feroce can be used against pinworm and aphid.
