STJ publishes ten more theses on Environmental Law
New guidelines emphasize the State's responsibility, the importance of transparency and the right to compensation in cases of environmental damage
Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) announced on this date the appointment of Nuria Miquel (in the photo) for the positions of senior vice president and scientific director of the company, starting on August 1st.
She has extensive experience in leadership positions at important companies in the sector, such as Novozymes, Tate & Lyle, Chr. Hansen and Hempel. Before reaching these positions, Miquel began her career as a research scientist. His career at ADM began three years ago, working as science and technology leader for the company's Nutrition segment.
The new scientific director obtained her Ph.D from the University of Copenhagen and University of Bristol, focusing on the effects of nutrition on immune responses in monogastric parasitic infections.
Juan Luciano, CEO of ADM, expressed his pride in appointing Miquel to lead the company's expansion efforts into naturally derived food, fuel, feed and industrial and consumer products. According to Luciano, the nominee has demonstrated throughout her distinguished career the ability to combine inspiring leadership and cutting-edge science to build high-performance Research and Development (R&D) teams, which transform new ideas into commercial products driving growth.
Nuria Miquel will succeed Todd Werpy, who announced his retirement after 16 years leading ADM's R&D and innovation efforts. The company's CEO, Juan Luciano, highlighted Werpy's relevance to the organization and to the sectors in which ADM operates. According to the executive, Werpy was a key player in the development of alternative fuels, fermentation, synthetic biology projects and the search to supply low-carbon raw materials to partners from different segments.
