John Deere, a global technology company that provides software and equipment for the agricultural, construction and forestry sectors, announced an investment of more than R$700 million in its Catalão factory, in Goiás (GO), where sprayers and harvesters are produced. of cane. The project aims to expand existing infrastructure, enabling the nationalization of the See & Spray intelligent spraying tool in order to meet the growing global demand for food.

“With this expansion of the unit we will have the addition of more than 20 thousand square meters to the 69 thousand square meters of the current plant. To keep up with the company's exponential growth in Brazil, it is planned to create approximately 400 new jobs from the investment over the next 60 months - 100 direct and 300 indirect”, explains Edison Drescher, director of the John Deere factory in Catalão.

The investment will enable John Deere to nationalize the production of the See & Spray system, which uses computer vision, artificial intelligence and machine learning to identify and apply herbicides in the exact quantity only where necessary. The solution uses 30 cameras installed along the more than 30 meters of the spray platform.
