Project evaluates levels of carbon accumulation in productive areas of the Cerrado of Bahia
The initiative is in the soil collection and sampling phase, and already includes 15 rural properties
BrasilAgro announced last Tuesday (26) the sale of a significant part of Chaparral Farm, located in Correntina, State of Bahia. The deal, valued at R$364,5 million, involves an area of 12.335 hectares, of which 8.796 are useful hectares, primarily dedicated to soybean cultivation.
The business stands out for the agricultural efficiency of the negotiated area. Each useful hectare is capable of producing up to 350 bags of soybeans, equivalent to around R$41,4, according to data presented by the company.
According to the statement to the market, an initial payment of R$53,5 million has already been made by the buyer. The payment plan extends over a period of 3,1 years.
From an accounting point of view, the value of this specific area of the farm in BrasilAgro's books was R$34 million, an amount that includes acquisitions and investments, minus depreciation. The expected return on this investment is 15% in reais.
Chaparral Farm was acquired in November 2007 and originally had a total area of 37.182 hectares, of which 26.444 hectares were useful. After this sale, the property still maintains a vast area of 24.847 hectares, with 17.648 useful hectares dedicated to the cultivation of grains and cotton.
