The National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea) inaugurated, last week, its new headquarters in the capital of São Paulo. The association moved to an office in the Berrini One building, in Brooklin, a space that more adequately reflects the new phase of its 26 members, with a focus on connectivity, sustainability, technology and constant innovation.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who was accompanied by the vice-president, Geraldo Alckmin, and ministers Fernando Haddad (Finance), Alexandre Padilha (Institutional Relations) and Ricardo Lewandowski (Justice ). The president of the ABC Metalworkers Union, Moisés Selerges Júnior, also participated in the ceremony.

In addition to starting the association's new cycle, the inauguration celebrated the 68th anniversary of the founding of the entity representing manufacturers of automobiles and self-propelled machines. The change of headquarters also occurred at a time of recovery in the automotive sector, with an active investment cycle that has already reached R$125 billion, a historic record.

“In two years, we doubled the volume of investments. The automotive sector returned with even more strength, largely due to the credibility and predictability provided by public sector measures and the courage of the leaders of our associates. Therefore, we can predict that within two years we will be back to the level of 3 million units sold annually”, highlighted in his speech the president of Anfavea, Marcio de Lima Leite (in the picture).

During the ceremony, President Lula highlighted that the government will spare no effort to ensure that the industry returns to the prominent space it had at the beginning of this century. As did Vice-President Alckmin, who celebrated the record investment by vehicle manufacturers.

Before the official inauguration, the presidential delegation and Anfavea's board of directors held a private meeting, with the participation of CEOs of associated manufacturers and vice-presidents of the entity. During the meeting, topics such as industrialization policies, predictability, legal security, foreign trade and fleet renewal were discussed, as well as details of the Mover Program – Green Mobility and Innovation.
