Brazilian companies and those from the American state of Indiana will meet tomorrow (16/4). The meeting aims to foster opportunities for 18 Brazilian startups. Bayer is the event promoter. These companies are part of the multinational's open innovation area.

The event will be attended by Eric J. Holcomb, governor of Indiana. Don Lamb, director of the state agriculture department, and Mitch Frazier, CEO of Agrinovus, will also participate. Agrinovus is a company seeking to promote digital agriculture in Indiana. The meeting will enable these leaders to learn about innovative projects. They will also be able to connect these innovations to challenges facing Indiana farmers.

Brazilian startups invited include Aegro, Sensix, Bem Agro, Perfect Flight and ConnectFARM. These companies operate in crucial areas for agribusiness. They focus on climate, finance, digital monitoring, business management and traceability.

Agriculture is essential to Indiana's economy. More than 80% of the state's territory is dedicated to farms and forests. Corn, wheat and soybeans are Indiana's main crops. They represent around 60% of agricultural products sold in the state. Daniel Standard (in the photo above), director of business operations for Bayer's agricultural division for Latin America, highlights the importance of this meeting. He believes that exchanging experiences can expand access to customized solutions for Indiana producers. Standard also mentions that Indiana already has an important agtech hub. He highlights that the Brazilian market is a reference in open innovation.
