Phytophagous stink bugs currently represent the greatest single cost among pests in soybean crop management. Several producers have expressed concerns, this issue has led technicians to reflect and seek improvements, due to the considerable losses caused by the pest and the increase in production costs associated with its control.

Harvest after harvest, pests have caused great damage to producers, as a result of climate change and the production system adopted. The agroecosystem used in the more than 43,4 million hectares of soybeans in Brazil has several characteristics conducive to the multiplication of pests. A production system prevails in which soybeans are the main crop to be established in the vast majority of areas, and may or may not be rotated. After harvesting, it is common to establish a crop in succession, or the area may be left fallow, providing food and favorable conditions for the pest population to increase.
