ANPII was the first entity representing bioinputs for agriculture in Brazil. Although formally created in 1990, inoculant producing companies since the 1970s were already organized to join forces in the fight for their interests.

In 1980, when the first law regulating inoculants was issued, companies were represented, positively influencing the terms of the legislation. After registering as a non-profit legal entity and incorporating inoculant importing companies into its ranks, the association took on greater strength and became an interlocutor of research and regulatory bodies, to debate the industry's point of view. of inoculants.

In the current phase, which we call the “age of organics in agriculture”, with the great boost that these inputs have taken on crops, ANPII has expanded its membership, incorporating new industries and opening space for a new category, that of collaborating associates, with the addition of companies with activities related to the production and commercialization of biological products, such as startups developing biotechnological innovation, bioanalysis laboratories, among others.

Until recently, there was a well-defined list of companies that produced inoculants and others that produced biological pesticides. However, with the expansion of technical-scientific knowledge, products began to be developed that serve two purposes: promoting the development of plants and, at the same time, serving to combat certain pathological agents that harm the health of crops.

Within this line, most of the associated companies started to work both with bioinputs to influence the area of nutrition and in the area of plant defense. The equipment and technical staff present high synergy between the two types of products. Feeling the need for greater representation of the latter sector, the natural path was to incorporate this line of biodefensive products into the scope of ANPII, which is the pioneer in the association of companies producing bioinputs and which today has a strong representation in the sector.

After several studies and consultations with members, it was decided at a general meeting that ANPII will also begin to operate in the biological pesticides segment, products that are increasingly consolidated in Brazilian agriculture. It was an almost natural movement: there is already a fully consolidated association, with 33 years of existence, high representation in the academic and regulatory sectors, with a range of companies from startups to the largest in the sector, all living democratically within the association space and with a strong movement of new members, which demonstrates the entity's significant presence in the sector.

The global trend is to have companies, and their respective trade associations, working in a multidisciplinary way, but with a focus on certain segments, to be able to follow the evolution of the dynamics of Brazilian agriculture.

ANPII is technically and administratively prepared to face this new activity and we are sure that members will feel well represented in the various forums. There is intense and very professional work in the discussion of the Bioinputs Law, taking the industry's point of view to make agricultural productivity increasingly effective in a sustainable way, taking into account the need to make productivity compatible with environmental protection.

Therefore, ANPII, in its trajectory of intense work and representation in the biological area, significantly increases its associative scope, in favor of agricultural production.
