The amount of rural credit contracted in the 2023/24 harvest exceeded R$319 billion as of March, which means that 73% of the R$435,8 billion made available by the federal government for the current agricultural cycle have already been transferred, according to survey carried out by the Technical Development Management of Ocepar (Getec), based on data from the Central Bank of Brazil. Most of these resources came from free resources (53%), mandatory resources (21%), rural savings (9%), constitutional funds (8%), BNDES (6%) and LCA (3%).

Cooperativism

Brazilian cooperatives have already raised around R$34,7 billion in the first nine months of the 2023/24 Harvest Plan. “It is important to note that this value corresponds to 27% more than the total raised in the previous harvest plan. The distribution of resources was mostly destined for industrialization and funding activities, in that order of importance”, says Getec analyst Salatiel Turra.

During this period, cooperatives in Paraná managed to raise around R$11,11 billion, which represents approximately 32% of the total amount raised by cooperatives in Brazil. Furthermore, the total raised by cooperatives in Paraná in the 2023/24 harvest, to date, already exceeds 37% of the total amount contracted in the last harvest.
