Soybean planting reaches 3% of the area planned for RS
The advance of planting in all regions occurred mainly in properties that plan larger cultivation areas
Marco Guimarães (in the photo) assumed the role of “Latam agronomic solutions lead - soybean, cotton & disease management - field solutions” at Bayer.
He began his career as a corn breeder at Coodetec. He moved to Agroceres with the same specialty. In 1997, when Monsanto bought the company, he started working at the North American company. At Monsanto, he held several positions with various responsibilities, such as “seed supply director”, “south america regional seed technology lead”, “global parent seed test lead” and “South / Central America trait and pipeline delivery lead”. When Bayer acquired the North American company in 2018, he remained with the company.
Marco is an agronomist graduated from the Federal University of Viçosa. He studied for a master's degree in genetics and plant breeding at the same institution. He was a visiting scientist in molecular breeding and biotechnology at Iowa State University. And he obtained an MBA in administration and business from Fundação Getúlio Vargas.
