Adama Ltd. announced the acquisition of the remaining 40% stake in Adama Chile, formerly known as Chile Agro, thus strengthening its presence in the Latin American plant nutrition and agrochemicals market. The initial investment of 60% in Chile Agro occurred in 2013.
Adama Chile is a company specialized in the development, production and commercialization of biostimulants and agrochemicals in Chile, including ExpertGrow, a triple mode of action biostimulant that increases production in fruits, vegetables and soybeans. ExpertGrow is based on a fermentation process developed by Adama that improves plant photosynthesis, reducing abiotic stress and improving fruit and pod retention and plant growth.
The company sells its products throughout Latin America, including Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Paraguay, as well as in other important markets such as Italy, France, Spain, China and Thailand. Adama hopes to launch ExpertGrow in more countries in the coming years.
According to market projections, the global biological crop protection market is growing rapidly and is expected to reach US$18,2 billion in 2026. Adama has a line of biological products, such as ExpertGrow, Nutrichelates and Lighup, to meet this growing demand and increasingly stringent environmental regulations.
"Biologics are an important segment of our developing sustainable portfolio," said Carlos Danilowicz (in the photo above), head of Adama's Latin America commercial unit.
"We see growing interest from farmers in organic products, especially in fruit and vegetable crops that are grown for export, meeting regulatory and consumer environments. This additional investment will increase our presence in this growing market."
