Yara announces promotions in the organizational structure

Yara Brasil announces the promotion of Cleiton Vargas, who will take on the role of vice-president of Plant Nutrition, and Carlos Heredia, who will take on the role of vice-president of Supply Chain.

Cleiton Vargas will be responsible for the Marketing, Commercial, Communication and Social Responsibility areas. Carlos Heredia will be responsible for the Operations, Supplies, Planning and Logistics areas, in addition to  . Both also take up positions on the Executive Committee of Yara Brasil, which will guide the company's strategy, in order to seek better synergy between the business segments.

Born in Porto Alegre, Cleiton Vargas holds a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and studied an MBA in Marketing from the Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing (ESPM). In 20 years of experience in the market, Vargas has acquired extensive knowledge of customer needs, in addition to experience in the areas of Operations, Commercial and Marketing.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Heredia joined Yara Brasil in 2013, through the acquisition of Bunge Fertilizandos, a company where he worked for 13 years in the Procurement and Supply Chain segments. The executive has a degree in Economics, a postgraduate degree in Economic Engineering from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ) and an MBA from Business School São Paulo, in cooperation with the University of Toronto.

The changes, effective since April, occur after the recent reorganization of Yara International, which elevated the Brazilian operation to the level of a global segment. With the new business division, announced in February, the current president of Yara Brasil, Lair Hanzen, assumed the newly created position of senior vice president of Yara Global, focusing on Brazil, a position he will hold simultaneously with the company's presidency in Brazil. Country. Hanzen, the only non-European member of the Board of Directors and the first Brazilian to hold a global vice-presidency at Yara International, now reports directly to the company's global president and CEO, Svein Tore Holsether, with a seat on the company's global Board of Directors. The executive is responsible for all of the company's operations in the country, including the fertilizer production and distribution division, the joint venture with Galvani and all strategic projects in Brazil.
