The evolution of agribusiness involves the digital transformation of the sector, carried out through the adoption of technologies in field production, a movement that has increasingly grown in the country.

Given this scenario, aiming to debate this process and the role of young people in this change, the third edition of the Youth Agribusiness Movement International – YAMI will bring together, on the 25th, 26th and 27th of October, representatives of the sector and its new generation, in Digital Experience , from 16:30 pm to 18 pm.

The Digital panel, which will be promoted on the first day of the event, will be moderated by the director of Innovation at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply – MAPA, Cleber Soares, and will be accompanied by the Business Development leader for Climate / Bayer, Guilherme Belardo, the Global Director of Brand Governance for Harvesters and Multi-Brand Governance for South America, Roseane Campos, the Marketing Director of Yara Brasil, Lucied Marques and the CEO of Orbia, Ivan Moreno.

The idea is for the panel to discuss how the new generation of agribusiness and the sector itself are preparing for the complete digitalization and added value attributed to the segment, reinforcing the importance of having leaders prepared to orchestrate this entire transformation.

For the Business Development leader for Climate / Bayer, Guilherme Belardo, the use of data and new technologies can support agriculture in solving a series of challenges that the sector and the world currently face, including climate challenges and the need to produce more food in the same area, optimizing inputs and natural resources.

“Digital transformation has gained even more speed and relevance in recent years, especially with the advancement of the pandemic. It has become increasingly necessary to invest in new ways to continue producing and, in the field, the result has been greater adoption of digitalization by Brazilian farmers, who already have a pioneering profile in the adoption of new technologies”, he highlights.

The changes caused by the pandemic, mainly related to consumer habits, brought to debate in different sectors of society the need to adopt technologies that help adaptation and this is no different for agriculture.

“Our market has always adopted technology very quickly, but it had a specific characteristic of employing solutions embedded in the products used. Today this scenario has changed, the adoption of technology also occurs independently and the digital environment has been bringing gains in productivity and efficiency in both agronomic and commercial aspects”, says the CEO of Orbia, Ivan Moreno.

This scenario of need for digital transformation can be considered a determining factor for the future of agribusiness, which depends on innovation and investment in technology to increase productivity, reduce costs for rural producers and contribute to sustainability in farming.

“We are experiencing agriculture in the connected era, working with the support of technological machines, linked to intelligent systems, which in real time read data in the field and provide information to help the farmer in decision-making. But we cannot forget that it is not enough to just offer innovative technological solutions. Even today, more than 70% of rural properties in Brazil do not have access to the internet”, recalls the Global Director of Brand Governance for Harvesters and Multi-Brand Governance for South America, Roseane Campos.

With the increasing presence of the new generation in the sector, YAMI brings to the debate not only digitalization in the sector, but also the preparation of these new leaders to assume important roles in the sector. “The importance of the digitalization process for the growth of results in the field is a theme that is part of the DNA of our Congress. Discussing the role of technologies and how young people complement this movement is one of the topics this year, especially with the learning and advances achieved in the last year by the sector”, points out the Show Manager of the event, Carolina Gama.
