X Abisolo Forum and Exhibition will address the international competitiveness of agriculture

Brazilian Association of Plant Nutrition Technology Industries (Abisolo) announces the participation of researcher Institute of Applied Economic Research (Ipea), José Eustáquio Ribeiro Vieira Filho, as a speaker on the first day of the X Abisolo Forum and Exhibition, which will be held on the 05th and June 06, in Campinas (SP). Under the theme "International Competitiveness of Brazilian Agriculture: Status, Risks and Opportunities", Vieira Filho will present a comprehensive analysis of the importance of grain chains in the Brazilian economy and the global competitiveness of the country's agriculture.

The speaker anticipates that one of the observations to be addressed during the Abisolo event is the fact that Brazil stands out as the largest net food exporter in the world. When analyzing the main global exporters, explains Vieira Filho, Brazil occupies a prominent position, demonstrating its significant contribution to global food security. A graph presented by the speaker will prove that, since 2015, the Brazilian trade balance in the agricultural sector has been consistently positive, highlighting the robustness and resilience of the sector.

Furthermore, Vieira Filho will address issues related to productive sustainability and compliance with ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria. He highlights indicators such as the "forest-saving effect", which highlight Brazil's commitment to sustainable agricultural practices. Comparing production data and carbon emissions over the last few decades, the expert explains that Brazil stands out as a leader in production efficiency per unit of emission, demonstrating notable progress in reducing the carbon footprint of the agricultural sector, summarizes the speaker .

The event will feature four thematic panels

The X Abisolo - Forum and Exhibition program is divided into four panels. On November 05th, the first day of the event, the opening panel will be dedicated to the theme “Business environment and competitiveness”, considering the international competitiveness of agribusiness, legal security, business environment, sustainability of Brazilian agricultural production and the market for carbon.

Then, in the afternoon, the second panel will deal with “Economic Sustainability of Agricultural Production”. The lectures in this panel will present the macroeconomic, political and geopolitical scenario of the fertilizer sector.

On the 06th, the morning program will resume with the third panel, dedicated to showing the “Technological evolution of the sector”. This panel will present recent scientific research on topics related to the physiological aspects of foliar absorption; interaction between mineral nutrition and plant disease; the mitigation of abiotic stress and nutrient-solubilizing microorganisms.

The fourth and final panel of the event will be dedicated to Market Intelligence, when the potential for adopting the use of special fertilizers in crops will be presented: soybeans, corn and sugar cane.
