Trade agreement with the EU should benefit the orange juice market
The perspective is that the large Brazilian juice industries will adopt strategies to increase competitiveness in the European market
With the aim of bringing 4G connectivity to the Água Quente (MT) farm, owned by Amaggi, Jacto, supplier of the OtmisNET solution, Tim, and Nokia, responsible for bringing the Tim no Campo 4G solution to the farm, are carrying out the pilot project “Telemeclima”. The aim of the initiative is to highlight how technologies embedded in machines contribute to more rational management in agribusiness, providing real-time information, enabling cost reduction and allowing work to be done preventively, mitigating waste and failures.
In this phase, around 700 agricultural equipment will be connected, in addition to other 'things' that can use the infrastructure in this ecosystem, which will benefit from Tim's 4G network to improve operations on the Amaggi farm, one of the main agricultural companies in Brazil with working in the areas of agricultural production, logistics and operations, commodities and energy.
“OtmisNET technology has the distinction of being multi-brand, and can be used for planting, spraying, fertilizing, harvesting and soil preparation, regardless of the machine manufacturer. Thus, the rural producer or agricultural manager monitors the entire production process in real time, facilitating decision-making. We can only manage when we measure the process variables. And the solution, with the support of the partnership's connectivity, allows this agility, this identification and intervention when failures are occurring”, explains the business manager of Otmis, Jacto's brand for precision agriculture, Cristiano Pontelli.
“We want to contribute with our expertise to make producers’ lives easier, increasing their productivity. Tim is a leader in 4G and in the field digitalization process using the 700 MHz band, which guarantees broad coverage in internal and external areas of the farm, connecting not only machines, but also people. The partnership with AMAGGI reinforces our goal of connecting five million hectares with 4G by the end of the year”, says Head of B2B & IoT Products at TIM Brasil, Alexandre Dal Forno.
The operational efficiency of the project also depends on the provision of cutting-edge equipment in this connected ecosystem. “Nokia is committed to the digitalization of Agribusiness, providing cutting-edge solutions in connectivity, IoT (Internet of Things) and high-performance networks to drive the development of the sector. The project in partnership with Amaggi, Tim and Jacto will bring gains in competitiveness and operational efficiency through fundamental technological innovations, such as 4G over satellite to connect people and things on farms, all prepared to evolve, in the future, to 5G”, says the Director of New Business at Nokia in Brazil, Leonardo Finizola.
Among other notable gains is communication between machines (Machine to machine), which is only possible thanks to connectivity; With the automatic synchronization of areas worked between equipment, data is exchanged in real time, reducing operational errors, such as failures and overlaps, and increasing operational efficiency.
“We hope that this work will bring a greater gain in operational performance, in addition to the ease of communication between our employees, who can now make video conference calls for decision-making or remote mechanical intervention, if necessary”, explains the director of Amaggi Agro , Pedro Valente.
