Built through a partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), the dollarized rural credit line from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), had all resources contracted on the first day of Agrishow, this Monday (01/05).
At first, R$2 billion were made available to finance the agricultural sector with interest of 7,59% per year. "The interest rates are well below the Safra Plan itself and resources that do not impact the National Treasury", explained the minister.
Furthermore, with the participation of automakers, dealers and banks related to these companies, the interest rate applied to financing was reduced to 6,09% per year.
According to Fávaro, the initial amount of this new credit modality was made available in order to determine the suitability of the market and producers for dollarized financing. With the total amount contracted in just one day, minister Carlos Fávaro spoke with the president of BNDES, Aloizio Mercadante, who committed to allocating more resources for this line of rural credit.
Fávaro also informed that he is working to soon announce the supplementation of the 2022/2023 Harvest Plan until the new one, for the cycle that runs until 2024, is launched.
