The low volume of rain recorded in the last two weeks contributed to accelerating the maturation of second-crop corn crops. Furthermore, the climate has favored the harvest in most regions.

In general, the availability of the cereal varies according to the region, which results in price movements that are also different between markets. On average across the regions monitored by Cepea, the increases ended up being more representative, supporting the average in the available market (negotiations between companies).

In the consumer region of Campinas (SP), a reference for the ESALQ/BM&FBovespa Indicator, prices fell, influenced by less interest from buyers, who have been purchasing lots from Goiás, Mato Grosso and the Triângulo Mineiro. Thus, between July 17th and 24th, the Indicator fell 0,36%, closing at R$ 49,25/60 kg bag on Friday, July 24th.
