Brazil, since the beginning of 2023, has conquered 51 new markets for agricultural products by September of this year.

With a diversified export agenda, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) intermediated negotiations in the Americas (Argentina, Canada, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Ecuador, Colombia, Chile and Panama), totaling 22 markets.

In the Asian region (Indonesia, Singapore, China, India, Malaysia, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan) 14 markets were conquered.

On the African continent (Egypt, Algeria, Angola and South Africa) the negotiations involved seven products.

In Europe (Russia and Belarus), we have two. In Oceania (French Polynesia, New Caledonia and Vanuatu) there were four markets. And in the Middle East (Israel and Saudi Arabia), we added two items.

opening of markets

Market openings are the result of bilateral transactions that culminate in the agreement on the health requirements to be attested and the corresponding sanitary, phytosanitary or veterinary certificate, which will be accepted by the importing country at the points of entry of the goods.

There is still work to prepare the producer and exporter to meet the demands of each of these new partners, in addition to the development of commercial promotion and dissemination activities for Brazilian agricultural products.

The presence of the Brazilian agricultural department is also essential for identifying opportunities for marketing national products, attracting foreign investors and overcoming barriers to Brazilian exports.

According to the analysis of the Secretariat of Trade and International Relations (SCRI/Mapa), the main markets reached include the sale of Brazilian beef and pork to Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

Brazilian agribusiness exports rose 6,6% in August this year, compared to the same month last year, reaching US$ 15,63 billion. The value corresponded to 50,4% of the total exported by Brazil, according to SCRI.
