Wheat research meeting opens registrations for the 13th edition

Researchers, teachers, academics, agribusiness professionals, seed producers, farmers, cereal growers and mills can now guarantee their presence at the 13th Meeting of the Brazilian Wheat and Triticale Research Commission (RCBPTT) and the National Wheat Forum 2019, which will be held in this edition by Biotrigo Genética, from July 2nd to 4th, 2019, in Passo Fundo. To submit works, the registration deadline is May 2nd, with submissions via the website www.reuniaodetrigo2019.com.br. The registration period with promotional values ​​for the first batch is until May 17th. Open to the public, the expectation is to bring together around 400 participants.

According to the president of the 13th RCBPTT, André Cunha Rosa, the Meeting is the main wheat scientific event in Brazil. He explains that the event aims to evaluate scientific advances, promote the transfer of technologies and integrate the different institutions that support the wheat and triticale production chain. “It is an important event that brings together the main debates on advances and where wheat research priorities are directed in Brazil”, he comments. The results of the last harvest are also evaluated and new technologies for cultivation in the coming years are recommended.

In this edition, the program will feature lectures and panels on past harvests and the prospects for wheat cultivation, debates related to storage, legislation, marketing and industrial quality, in addition to the presentation of scientific works in technical subcommittees. Based on these studies, a book with Technical Information for Wheat and Triticale – 2019 Harvest will be prepared.

Works will be received in the form of expanded abstracts until May 2nd and can be registered in one of the following technical subcommittees: Ecology, Physiology and Cultural Practices; Phytopathology; Entomology; Breeding, Industrial Aptitude and Seeds; Soils and Plant Nutrition and Technology Transfer and Socioeconomics. The event, which takes place in the auditorium of the Faculty of Economics and Administration of the University of Passo Fundo (UPF), is sponsored by the companies Basf, Syngenta, Bayer, Coamo, Granotec, Agrária, Apasem, FMC and support from Embrapa Trigo.
