This weekend, the strong sun and dry weather still prevail over the central region of the country. There is no rain forecast for the producing regions of Mato Grosso, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí, Bahia and cerrado, maintaining favorable conditions for harvesting coffee, sugar cane, corn and cotton over the next few days.
In the Southeast, the weather remains open at least until Sunday (08). On Monday (09), cold and humid winds blowing from the ocean will cause temperature drops in the region. Rain showers are forecast in the South, east of São Paulo, south of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo. The instability will be of low intensity and short duration. Therefore, they should not interfere with work in the field, including harvesting.
At the beginning of next week, the South Region should have rain throughout the eastern region. However, the rain will be of low intensity and short duration. Thus, work in the field, such as harvesting, should not be harmed; only momentary stoppages may occur.
For wheat in crops sown earlier, rainfall has helped maintain soil moisture and, consequently, the initial development of crops. However, in Rio Grande do Sul, in some crops located in the Planalto, according to reports, excessive rain has already hampered the completion of sowing and the use of fertilizers due to high soil humidity.
low temperatures
Regarding the cold, at the beginning of the week, temperatures are expected to drop throughout central-southern Brazil. However, despite it being a colder week, especially in Rio Grande do Sul, no frosts are expected for crop areas, and may only occur in a punctual manner or so-called tourist frosts.
