Registration for the Resistance Management Seminar ends this week
The event will be held on the 23rd and 24th of July, at the Famato auditorium, in Cuiabá (MT)
The supply of wheat for the national milling industry should be favorable in the second half of 2019 and the beginning of next year, considering that Argentine production, the main supplier of Brazilian mills, tends towards normality and the release of imports with zero duty of 750 thousand tons . "Another good news is that Brazilian production in 2019 is expected to reach 5,488 million tons, with growth of 1,1% over last season, when 5,428 million tons were harvested", highlights ambassador Rubens Barbosa, president of the Brazilian Association of Wheat Industry (Abitrigo).
"These numbers from the National Supply Company (Conab) indicate an improvement in the productivity of the national crop, considering that the area planted this year, of 1,993 million hectares, is 2,4% smaller compared to the previous year, of 2,042 million hectares. ", emphasizes Barbosa. The projected productivity is 2.753 kilos per hectare, 3,6% above the previous year, when it was 2.657 kilos per hectare. Paraná is expected to have a harvest of 2,747 million tons, a drop of 3,1% over the previous year. In Rio Grande do Sul, production is expected to rise 3,4%, reaching 1,936 million tons.
"With the diversification of suppliers, including Argentina, Brazilian producers and those from other countries, our milling industry has an adequate quantity and varieties of wheat to serve the national market in volume and types of flour", concludes the ambassador.
