Rice harvest reaches 85,7% of the planted area in RS
Average productivity is 9.022 kg per hectare
The National Supply Company (Conab) released today (25/4) a partial bulletin with information on climate conditions in the main producing regions of Brazil. The survey indicates that, while the North of the country has recorded rainfall favorable to agricultural development, other regions, such as the Northeast, Central-West and Southeast, are facing losses due to irregular rainfall.
According to the report, the second corn crop is showing good development in the main producing states. The rice harvest is progressing at a fast pace, especially in Tocantins, where more than 60% of the areas have already been harvested. In Rio Grande do Sul, productivity is considered good, although there are variations in the quality of the grains. In Santa Catarina, the weather favored the harvest, with good productivity and quality rates.
Cotton cultivation is proceeding well in most states, particularly in Mato Grosso, Bahia and Maranhão, where rainfall has ensured adequate moisture. In the Central-West and Southeast, however, development is irregular due to the previous drought.
The first corn harvest is progressing, especially in Minas Gerais, with good expectations even after the dry spell. While Paraná has completed its work, states such as Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina are facing slow harvests. In regions such as Maranhão, Pará and São Paulo, the weather is favorable for crops to perform well.
Soybeans are in the final stages of harvesting throughout the country. Mato Grosso, Paraná, Goiás and Bahia are recording good productivity. In the South and North, excess or lack of rain has affected some crops, but overall, the results are positive.
