UPL announces Liria Hosoe as director of regulatory affairs in Brazil
"Taking on this new role is a professional and personal satisfaction", says Liria
Given the economic situation with a high Selic, and the Union's recurring budgetary challenges, the conditions for supplying resources and interest rates in the 2022/23 Harvest Plan were adequate, assesses the Brazilian Association of Corn Producers (Abramilho). "It was a plan that was as far as possible for the current moment", says Cesario Ramalho, institutional president of the entity.
According to him, the new plan rightly prioritizes small and medium-sized producers, as large ones have more financial structure to seek resources from private sources. In relation to rural insurance, Abramilho sees the signaling of R$ 2 billion for subsidy as positive, with the expectation that the resources will be obtained and not contingent.
Furthermore, the entity congratulates the current Minister of Agriculture, Marcos Montes, his predecessor Tereza Cristina and the Parliamentary Agricultural Front (FPA) for their incessant work to make the plan viable together with the government's economic team. "For the producer, the message is, above all, cost control and good management for the next harvest", concludes Ramalho.
