Jennifer Rumsey Promoted to President and CEO of Cummins
Jennifer will be the first woman to lead the company since its founding in 1919
At the opening of the event (September 21), the VI Brazilian Plant Health Congress will pay tribute to Professor Tomomassa Matuo, called the “Father of Application Technology in Latin America”.
Professor Tomomassa, Agronomist at Esalq Usp (1965), Holder (retired) of UNESP - Universidade Estadual Paulista "Júlio de Mesquita Filho", in Jaboticabal, directed his academic career to the development of Application Technology. Among many achievements, he published the current concept in his 1990 book. In 1997 he participated as a member of the Expert Committee on Pesticide Application (FAO-Rome), among the 10 largest global experts in the field, representing the Americas. He won the “XV Brazilian Invention National Competition” with the invention of the Photocell Sensor Sprayer and received the “Confea Professional Merit Award”, an honor given to only 13 professionals in the CONFEA System, per year.
In Brazil there are other honorable personalities, whom Professor Tomomassa represents well through his work and character. Undeniably deserving of the prominence he now receives as the Personality of Brazilian Plant Health.
