Making farmers aware of how to use technologies and solutions in farming is one of the main values of Essere Group, the national agricultural holding company, which has been operating in São José do Rio Preto since January 2021. Going beyond this premise, Essere Group adds a cutting-edge team in the field of scientific research, the so-called Vanguard Team, made up of agricultural experts who disseminate multidisciplinary knowledge, innovations and solutions for farming.
According to Luiz Henrique Marcandalli, Product Manager at Essere Group, the Vanguard Team currently has 34 specialists. All are fundamental in the process of validating research and science in the agricultural context. In other words, and fundamentally, they connect industry with the field, encompassing the areas of biological, physiology, phytotechnics, soil management, nutrition, health and plant protection, which makes this exchange of experiences, information and knowledge highly fruitful.
To present the results achieved by the Vanguard Team, in the first half of this year, an online event served to expand discussions on important research and topics relevant to farmers with interaction between participants, Vanguard Team and Essere Group professionals.
Nutrition, amino acids and hormones in agricultural crops; application technology; integrated management to control the corn leafhopper and the relevance of the new “Priming” technology, which activates warning signals to detect pests and diseases, in the plant defense process, were the topics discussed during the event and which were presented, respectively, by Professor Dr. Carlos Crusciol, from UNESP in Botucatu; Dr. Ulisses Gandolfo, Technical Director of the Dashen Institute; Dr. Suélen Moreira, Research Entomologist, at Fundação Chapadão and Dr. Ronaldo Dalio, COO at IdeeLab. At the end of each panel, blocks with questions were conducted for interaction between the Vanguard Team and the other participants about each of the topics presented with the purpose of contributing decisively to the improvement of technologies and solutions for agriculture.
It is estimated that R$3 million was invested in research carried out by the Vanguard Team in the first half of this year. The next Vanguard Team meeting is scheduled for October with the aim of directing research into protocols in the field, with a view to the next harvest.
