CNA debates partnerships in irrigation and hydroagricultural projects
The topic was discussed at a meeting of the National Irrigation Commission
The Gross Value of Agricultural Production (VBP) in 2022, based on information from June, reaches R$ 1,241 trillion, 1,6% above that obtained in 2021. Crops, with revenues of R$ 875,50 billion, were the mainly responsible for the growth of VBP, and presented real growth of 5,2%. Its participation in VBP is 70,0%, and livestock 30,0%.
Livestock production fell by 6,2%, and its value is R$365,71 billion. This reduction in the value of livestock can be attributed to the drop in domestic prices, which have been marked, mainly for pigs, cattle and chickens.
The best VBP performance occurred in soybeans, corn, sugar cane, coffee and cotton. These are the best classified among the products analyzed.
Prices have been decisive for these results. They represent 59,4% of the total VBP. To these, there are others, whose highlight is due to the increase in the VBP, although the absolute values are not as expressive. This group is represented by bananas, potatoes, beans, tomatoes and wheat, which have a relevant weight in the IPCA.
A small group of products, made up of rice, cocoa, oranges, grapes and soybeans, saw a drop in production value, due to lower prices. However, for some of these, such as soybeans and rice, the reduction is due to the drought, which hit Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul
As has been shown in previous reports, the regional VBP is led by five states: Mato Grosso, São Paulo, Paraná, Minas Gerais and Goiás, which contribute 63,0% of the national VBP.
