Business opportunities for wheat producers
Wheat cultivation needs to guarantee income for producers, so it is necessary to be aware of business opportunities in sectors such as exports, animal feed and biscuit production
Valtra is launching the new version of the Momentum folding planter. Now the new product has the same technology as the exclusive version for seeds, also for applying fertilizers to each planting line. With technology developed and manufactured in Brazil, Momentum Valtra Sementes & Fertilizandos reaches the market in versions 24 and 30 lines of 45cm (10,8 and 13,5 meters working width, respectively).
“Momentum was the highlight at the biggest agricultural fairs in Brazil last year, thanks to its technology, design and work capacity. As it is foldable, one of the main characteristics of the Momentum project has always been versatility, something fundamental for optimizing working time in the field and making better use of the planting window. This potential is even greater at Momentum Sementes & Fertilizandos and provides up to a 15% increase in crop productivity”, comments Alexandre Vinícius Assis, sales director at Valtra.
With the same capacity of 5.130 liters for seeds, distributed in two storage boxes, the new version of Momentum has a third box for storing fertilizers. With 3600 liters of capacity, the box is made of stainless steel, with robust construction, to guarantee durability and safety for the farmer when handling inputs. Even with its size, Momentum Sementes & Fertilizandos has good weight distribution, thanks to its sets of double wheels in lateral tandem in the center of the machine, and the wheels on each wing of the planter, which help to reduce soil compaction.
Momentum's opening and closing time is 1,5 minutes, providing agility when repositioning the machine or working in different areas of the property. The transport width, also fundamental to the Momentum's versatility, remains the same - folded, the equipment is 3,6 meters, allowing it to pass through gates and bridges without difficulty. For road transport, the planter reaches 3,2 meters, with the removal of the extra side beaters, which reduces transport costs.
Following the example of the technology applied to seed distribution, fertilizer distribution is carried out using a doser made up of a double rotor for each line, with hydraulic drive to dose the fertilizer rate. Using a pneumatic system, the fertilizer is conveyed to each planting line. This technology guarantees uniformity in the deposition of each line in different topographies, with variations of less than 10% between them.
The Smart Frame chassis, which connects the planting lines to the machine chassis, is divided into three sections that provide up to 400% more travel for the planting lines to copy different topography and 1200mm of total travel. This feature offers uniform planting in the furrow and seed deposition in the soil of wide-base land, which allows for more uniform immersion and singulation levels of up to 99,6% in corn.
Momentum is also equipped with vDrive transmission as standard for each planting line. The vDrive transmission is responsible for two important functions – population control in each line for the exact amount of seeds deposited, without overlapping, and compensation in curves, which avoids overlapping on the inside of the maneuver and excessive distance on the outside. Better use of seeds and inputs can generate more than R$90 in savings for rural producers when growing grains in areas of up to 600 hectares.
The 20/20 Generation 3 monitor, a standard item from Momentum, allows the producer to monitor planter data in real time, line by line, and make the necessary adjustments based on solid information about each moment of the operation. Furthermore, the monitor fully integrates with all digital agronomic solutions offered by AGCO's Farm Solutions initiative.
