Valtra will exhibit at Expointer 2019 one of the brand's biggest highlights on the 2019 agricultural fair circuit - the Momentum planter. Highly innovative, it is foldable, measuring just 3,6 meters wide when closed, which facilitates off-road transport and makes Momentum the best mobility planter on the market. Expointer 2019 takes place in Esteio, Rio Grande do Sul, from August 24th to September 1st.

“Our team of developers carried out 100% of the Momentum project on Brazilian land. This is the first time this has occurred at the company, demonstrating the strength of professional agriculture in our country. Momentum is a milestone in Valtra's history, which will be exported to several countries, revolutionizing planting technologies around the world. It is a planter completely oriented towards digital agriculture, and is certainly one of the most technological agricultural equipment in the world”, says Douglas Vincensi, Marketing Manager for Tractors, Planting Implements & Haymaking at AGCO.

Momentum has only one lubrication point on the entire planter, and all other bushings on the machine are “Infinity”, high resistance and self-lubricating. Furthermore, the equipment has 100% Precision Planting technology, with a Vset2 seed meterer, vDrive row control system and 2020 Seedsense Generation 3 monitor. Momentum is available in versions with 24, 30 and 40 rows at 45cm spacing. The seed box is also one of the largest on the market, with a capacity for 5.130 liters of seeds.

The technology Precision Planting integrates with the Valtra equipment telemetry system. The 20/20 Generation 3 monitor allows farmers to monitor Momentum data in real time, tracking information line by line, such as population, singulation, planting maps and control of each line. This enables the producer to make the best decisions in real time during the planting activity. Additionally, the Gen 20 20/3 display was designed from the ground up to be fully integrated with FieldView software. This allows Momentum to make use of variable seed rate with the integration of components: 20/20 Gen3, vDrive and FieldView.

Thanks to its ease of transportation and maintenance, Momentum offers farmers the chance to make better use of increasingly shorter planting windows. More suitable for large properties, it can be transported on flatbed trucks just by removing two wheels and two lines from the central support, leaving it just 3 meters wide, which eliminates the need for the use of beaters.

Other Momentum highlights are the subframe Smart Frame, which features the new independent self-leveling system for the three sections of planting lines, ensuring that the machine keeps all lines in contact with the soil and deposits seeds at the correct depth, even on wide bases and contour lines.

The double tandem wheels reduce soil compaction and the efforts applied to the chassis during transport between one field and another. The working widths are 10,2m, 13,5m and 18m, in the 24, 30 and 40 line versions, respectively. The singulation index (percentage of failed and double seeds) of the new planter reaches 99,6% in corn, even at planting speeds above 10 km/h.

HiTech and Frontier CFS planters with factory options from Precision Planting

For the portfolio of HiTech and Frontier CFS planters, Valtra included Precision Planting technology as a factory item. Both will be on display at Expointer 1029. They are intelligent dosers that increase performance in seed distribution. The system guarantees more than 99% singulation, maintaining a regular spacing between seeds. In 2019, both also started to have the vDrive electric motor as a factory option.

The HiTech Series of Valtra planters is offered in both Seed and Fertilizer and Seed versions (seeds only), and can also be equipped with a hydraulic transmission system that allows the application of fertilizer and seed at a Variable Rate, in addition to offering greater seeding capacity and robustness to face long journeys.

The Frontier CFS and HiTech planters can also be equipped with a hydraulic transmission system that allows fertilizer and seed application at a Variable Rate, a technology that allows you to program the distribution of seeds and fertilizers with a simple touch on the control screen, from within the cabin, according to a recommendation map.
