More than 96 tons of seeds had their sale suspended in Mato Grosso do Sul
The action was concentrated in the regions of Campo Grande and Chapadão do Sul
Paddy rice prices in Rio Grande do Sul have been rising since the end of August. According to Cepea researchers, the advance is linked to strong external demand, which favors the reduction of surpluses in the Brazilian market.
Furthermore, higher export parity increases selling interest, influencing domestic prices. Thus, from the end of August until this week, the CEPEA/IRGA-RS paddy rice indicator (58% whole grains, with cash payment) rose 12%, jumping from R$ 75/50 kg bag to R$ $85/sc of 50kg.
