Yara launches digital platforms for online marketing of nutritional solutions
The objective is to facilitate customer access to the company's portfolio and provide more visibility and reach for partner channels, such as resellers and cooperatives
Peanut production in Brazil exceeds 580,5 thousand tons, according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). Five years earlier, there were around 500 thousand tons – which reveals growth of 16% in the period. Much of this good result is due to the phytosanitary care taken by rural producers to avoid losses.
Not surprisingly, the value of peanut production increased by 67% in five years, from R$634,6 million in 2015 to R$1,1 billion in 2019, the most recent data from IBGE. However, if the farmer does not maintain investments in crop protection, the risk of productivity losses remains imminent. Therefore, UPL positions itself as a partner with producers.
UPL has five decades of experience in plant defense. To protect and guarantee the potential of peanuts, the company offers seed treatments, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and physioactivators with scientifically proven efficacy and innovative technologies.
To start the crop, currently planted on more than 171,6 thousand hectares, Vitavax Thiram 200 SC and Biozyme seed treatments are available on the market. The first is a systemic and multi-crop contact fungicide, with the benefit of being multi-site and multi-target, offering a greater spectrum of disease control and resistance.
Biozyme is a fertilizer with the function of a plant physioactivator, which accelerates various metabolic and physiological processes in plants, maintaining nutritional and physiological balance, essential for increasing productivity. The category of physioactivators also includes Foltron, which benefits vegetative growth, and K-Fol, for the fruiting phase.
Against weeds that compete with peanuts for nutrients, UPL highlights the high performance of Select 240 EC and Select One Pack – which has technology to minimize errors in preparing the syrup. Both are systemic selective graminicides against more than 15 weeds that harm the crop, such as the well-known bittergrass.
Insects also worry farmers. Soybean and red-necked caterpillars, tan tripods, whiteflies and yellow-green kittiwakes are some of them. UPL has the ideal solution for everyone, with Trinca, Login and Perito, as well as Sperto – which combines acetamiprid and bifenthrin in an exclusive way, offering broad and prolonged control.
Last but not least are diseases. The main one is caused by the fungus Cercospora arachidicola and known as "brown spot". Manzate 800 and Unizeb Glory are the two UPL solutions recommended for alternating problem and resistance management. With high selectivity, the solutions reduce crop stress and help plant health.
