UPL presents its portfolio for combating pests and diseases in the field during Coopercitrus Technology and Innovation Week. The digital event – whose theme is "agriculture cannot stop" – takes place between October 26th and 30th, focusing on the cultivation of fruit and vegetables, citrus, coffee, soybeans and corn, as well as sugar cane.

"The theme of this event reflects the pandemic moment we are living in. Throughout this atypical year, Brazilian producers have maintained their plantations in high quantity and quality. UPL has developed and made available high-performance technologies to further improve this scenario" , says Edivaldo Panini, from the UPL Brasil market development team.

Among the company's highlights during the virtual fair will be Pronutiva, a program that integrates the use of solutions for crop protection with biosolution technologies. "Biosolutions include biological and nutritional products, in addition to physioactivators, which stimulate plants to develop with more vigor, productivity and quality", says Panini.

According to the professional, UPL's proposal is to take care of the entire cultivation cycle in an integrated manner, with solutions that contribute especially to better plant health. In addition to the Pronutiva concept, the acaricides Omite, Obny and Microthiol, the insecticides Sperto and Cartarys, the fungicides Triziman and Unizeb Glory and the herbicides Select One Pack and Sanson Evo will be highlighted, as well as other solutions, such as the bactericide Kasumin.

Recently launched in the country, the FlyUP project will also be addressed by UPL at the event. This is a technology for aerial mapping of weeds and diseases in sugarcane fields. With artificial intelligence, it uses very high precision images, with the ability to reach ground level.

"This new solution performs dynamic, agile and precise analyses. By detailing phytosanitary problems and managing the information collected, in real time, it is possible to make faster and more effective decisions, aiming to rationalize and solve problems through use of agricultural pesticides with economic and environmental sustainability", highlights Luciano Almeida, marketing supervisor for sugarcane and pasture at UPL Brasil.

FlyUP has three aircraft equipped with a device that captures images with a resolution of 0,3 mm/pixel of fields at leaf level and can cover 5.000 hectares per day at 200 km/h. From the flyover, UPL customers receive information and insights immediately, identifying the first signs of the emergence of weeds, fungal diseases and even nutritional deficiencies.R
