On October 15th, at 19pm, UPL launches the Cultiv-e platform, a new way of interacting with its customers, sharing knowledge and content on good management practices for the complex of diseases in soybeans – such as Asian rust, target spot , cercospora, septoria, powdery mildew – which constantly threaten the productivity of the country's most important crop. The content will be made available free of charge to farmers, resellers and company employees on an exclusive portal.

"UPL is an OpenAg company, that is, open to innovation and modern agriculture. Therefore, our proposal is to add value to the food production chain through a digital learning journey, which brings features and benefits of our solutions for the management of diseases in soybeans, thus helping farmers maintain high levels of productivity", says the fungicide manager at UPL Brasil, Fernando Arantes.

According to the specialist, knowing in depth the problems and solutions available for the appropriate preventive management of diseases is increasingly important considering that many fungi end up creating resistance to certain chemical groups, causing losses that can be greater than R$ 150 billion considering rust alone, one of the main problems in soybeans, alongside anthracnose and target spot – equally worrying for farmers.

"This new digital platform is part of UPL's global strategy to contribute with innovative and sustainable solutions for food production, an increasing demand not only in Brazil, but worldwide. Distance learning, which has gained prominence during the pandemic of Covid-19, is an effective alternative for bringing knowledge to all regions of the country, even those furthest from large information centers", highlights Arantes.

Two multisite fungicide technologies for soybeans – a segment created by UPL – will be highlighted on the Cultiv-e platform. One of them is Unizeb Gold. In six harvests, this solution, in association with other site-specific fungicides, has already treated more than 115 million hectares. In addition to Asian rust and target spot, the product is registered for the treatment of brown spot and purple seed spot.

"In research, we have already found that 98% of farmers who use Unizeb Gold have visually proven the more efficient management of the main diseases and, consequently, increased productivity in their crops, which is our main objective", highlights Fernando Arantes. "These results placed us at the top of the category, reflecting the high performance of the composition in the country's crops."

Another highlight will be Tridium, a triple formulation of azoxystrobin, mancozeb and tebuconazole, which ensures protection from the beginning of the crop (pre-closing the rows). "UPL's multisite fungicides stand out for their efficiency in managing resistance, one of the ideals that underlie our credibility, which comes down to helping farmers produce more and more sustainably. We invest in innovation to benefit safety food for the planet", concludes the fungicide manager at UPL.
