UPL highlights launches at the 39th Brazilian Congress of Nematology

UPL Ltd., a global provider of sustainable agricultural solutions, is present at the 39th Brazilian Congress of Nematology, which will be held in Foz do Iguaçu (PR) until September 5. One of the company’s main highlights for the event is its latest launch, Nimaxxa, the first bionematicide and agricultural biostimulant registered in Brazil. The product is part of the portfolio of Natural Plant Protection (NPP), UPL’s business unit focused on biosolutions. 

Composed of three strains of bacteria from the Bacillus genus: B. paralicheniformis, B. paralicheniformis and B. subtilis, Nimaxxa acts to protect and stimulate plant growth. The three carefully selected strains are exclusive to UPL. 

Bruno Carloto (in the video), Marketing Manager for Seed Treatment and Soil Health at UPL, emphasizes that the product has a formulation that is highly compatible with all seed treatment chemicals on the market. “Nimaxxa is a different product on the market, with a liquid formulation, with three bacillus in its composition. The main difference is that we are registered as a biostimulant. So Nimaxxa is today the first biostimulant bionematicide on the Brazilian market, which brings final productivity to producers”, he states. 

Nimaxxa's performance

The three biological agents present in Nimaxxa, once applied, quickly colonize the roots, forming a biofilm (biological barrier) that lasts throughout the crop cycle, protecting the plant against the main nematodes, such as cyst, root-knot and lesion nematodes. It also offers a biostimulant effect, as attested by the registration obtained with Mapa after the strict regulatory process that is typical of the sector.

Another advantage of Nimaxxa is that the biostimulant bionematicide has a shelf life of 2 years without refrigeration. It is also highly compatible with chemical inputs and can be mixed with all seed treatments on the market. Seeds treated with Nimaxxa – a product that is the result of a partnership between UPL and Novonesis, a global company specializing in biosolutions – can be stored for up to 6 months without loss of viability.
