UPL has entered into a long-term partnership with the Danish Chr. Hansen for the development of biological solutions, which includes biostimulants and biopesticides. The aim of the two companies' joint work is to help producers around the world improve the quality and yield of their crops.

"UPL will use its global presence to conduct research, identify opportunities and design solutions for growers. From these insights, Chr. Hansen will design biological products based on their microbial capabilities. UPL will then register and commercialize these products for through its extensive global distribution network", says UPL's global marketing director, Vicente Gongora.

The executive also highlights that UPL sees this collaboration as a perfect symmetry between the company's global reach – which has Indian origins – and the objectives of investing in biological solutions, which was reflected in the creation of a business unit (Natural Plant Protection - NPP), and Chr. Hansen's 145-year track record as a leader in creating microbial platforms and fermentation technology.

"Biosolutions are a central pillar of our global purpose to rethink sustainability.  Consolidating our distribution networks, research and development facilities, together with Chr. Hansen's unique microbial expertise and expertise, represents a powerful opportunity to change the game for producers and sustainable agriculture", concludes Gongora.
