An important step was taken this Friday to continue research with agricultural drones from the Postgraduate Program in Plant Health – PPGFS at the Federal University of Pelotas.

The project “Studies on the use of remotely piloted aircraft in the application of herbicides in weed management” was approved, which is led by Colombian agronomist Jonathan Andres Garcia Montaña, under the guidance of professor Dr. Edinalvo Camargo, and will result in new recommendations for the use of this modern technology.

The project has the support of Schroder Consultoria Agro which, through Reddrones, made a Pelicano agricultural drone available for the defense ceremony of Jonathan's project in front of the PPGFS examining board. The equipment will be used to carry out field spraying for this research

Researcher Jonathan recently participated in consultancy training, having completed with honors the Agricultural Aviation Coordinator - CCAA and Remote Aeroagricultural Applicator - CAAR courses, both certified by the Ministry of Agriculture.
