The sugar and alcohol sector in Brazil has been going through some challenges and requiring producers, in addition to resilience, to invest in their sugarcane fields. According to the National Supply Company (Conab), the expectation for the 2021/2022 harvest is that Brazil will produce 628,1 million tons of sugarcane, a volume 4% lower compared to 2020/21. Among the factors that explain the less than optimistic forecast are the adverse weather conditions that the country has been facing since 2020. Dry periods contribute to numerous negative factors for the crop, with emphasis on the physiological factor. With water stress, the plant reduces its metabolism, which ends up affecting the development and productivity of the sugarcane field.

With the aim of supporting the producer and increasing the productive potential of the sugarcane segment, Ubyfol offers the market two new solutions: Matura+ and Verdatto, which help in the development of sugarcane cultivation and contribute to increasing the productivity of one of the most significant segments of Brazilian agribusiness.

The Matura+ offers practicality to the producer and guarantees greater efficiency in the sugarcane maturation process, contributing to an increase in total recoverable sugar (ATR) and, naturally, a greater production of sugar and ethanol. In order to provide even more versatility and practicality to the producer, Matura+ comes in a liquid version, facilitating precision in dosages. Phosphorus, one of the key components of the formula, provides more energy to the plant and provides greater sugarcane yield per hectare and, consequently, sugar production per hectare. Verdatto, Ubyfol's new foliar fertilizer for the pre-drought phase, aims to maintain greater photosynthetic and enzymatic activity in sugarcane, protecting the plantation against the period of water restriction. With its use, the plant acquires greater tolerance to drought and becomes more resistant to abiotic stresses, which contributed to the preservation of TCH and ATR in the sugarcane field. The arrival of Verdatto on the market provides producers with security and innovation, making them more prepared to face periods of drought, making the plantation more resistant to climate challenges.

"Ubyfol is committed to continually monitoring the new challenges faced by rural producers. And through its expertise, it proposes innovative solutions aligned with the real needs of the countryside. We remain committed to offering efficient products that help our customers to increase their productivity in a responsible and sustainable way", highlights João Alves, Technical Market Development Manager at Ubyfol. Ubyfol has a wide portfolio of solutions to support sugarcane cultivation, which aim to optimize and improve productivity, meeting the nutritional needs of the crop, promoting the metabolic balance and physiological development of sugarcane.
