Trimble has announced the next generation of its selective spray system, the WeedSeeker 2. Developed based on more than 25 years of experience in agriculture, Trimble's new solution and sensor system offers growers up to 90% savings on crop costs. inputs, as it applies agricultural pesticides only to invasive plants, identified through sensors.
Selective spray systems bring a variety of improvements over traditional agricultural spraying. By detecting individual weeds in the field and directly applying the pesticide, farmers can reduce

Furthermore, with the reduction of herbicides applied, there is also a great benefit for the environment, further promoting sustainability and better property management.
The WeedSeeker 2 brings state-of-the-art improvements to the Brazilian spraying market. New smart sensors save time in the field by eliminating the need for system resets. After a quick calibration at power-up, the WeedSeeker 2 automatically adjusts to changes in temperature, ambient light and changing background such as soil or straw, ensuring system accuracy in all conditions. These smart sensors also know your speed and your position on the sprayer booms. This means they don't spray sections of the field that have already been covered, and they automatically adjust the spray time when you make a turn to ensure a weed is sprayed.
Knowing the exact location of invasive plants allows farmers to combat the problem more and more effectively. WeedSeeker 2 now records where weeds are sprayed, so users can see, in real time, where there are problem areas and review detailed log maps before the next spray. The new system is also lighter and more agile on longer bars, and the sensors now provide expanded coverage areas.

The GFX-750 monitor can quickly transition between operating screens for on-site guidance and spraying, while simultaneously controlling both, allowing for a cleaner tractor cab and eliminating the need for multiple monitors for sprayer guidance and control.
WeedSeeker 2 is able to communicate with different brands. Any monitor compatible with the ISOBUS protocol can be used to monitor and control the new selective spray system. With an intuitive interface, the technology is simple and easy to use, offering growers optimal flexibility in their farming operations.
The new universal mount allows installation on more types of spray bars, eliminating the need for custom brackets. With the ease of installation, producers can return to the field sooner.
State-of-the-art technology
The WeedSeeker 2 features a redesigned compartment that is easier to clean and maintain. Channels built into the sensor compartment allow liquid to be drained regardless of the position of the bar. This considerably reduces the need to clean equipment due to unexpected rain or other environmental impacts.
Additionally, the WeedSeeker 2's upgraded processing power allows for sprayer operating speeds of up to 40 miles per hour. Faster operating speeds allow farmers to cover more hectares in a day while at the same time achieving optimal accuracy, making this system more cost-effective.
