Topseed Premium, a line of seeds from Agristar do Brasil, was present at the 31st edition of the National Onion Seminar (SENACE), held simultaneously with the 22nd Mercosul Onion Seminar. The event took place between March 13th and 15th, in the municipality of Alfredo Wagner (SC). On the occasion, two launches were presented to producers: NBR 251 and Excalibur F1 onions, in addition to the portfolio of hybrid onion seeds.
The NBR 251 variety stands out for offering high productivity, uniformity, in addition to being ideal for cultivation in the southern region of the country. Excalibur F1 has productivity and, with excellent skin, offers high tolerance to crop diseases.
SENACE, held annually, brings together representatives and authorities from the onion sector. The focus of the event is to promote the exchange of experiences and generate debates on issues relevant to the development of new technologies, services and products aimed at production. To this end, more than a thousand people participated in the activities of this edition, including round tables, technical visits and seminars.
“As it is a national event, which attracts producers from all over Brazil, the presence of Topseed Premium was extremely important. We were able to showcase our launches and main products, making Senace a showcase for us to showcase the technology that the line brings to rural producers”, explained the Santa Catarina technical sales representative, Carlos Xavier.
Topseed Premium's participation in SENACE is the result of the work carried out by Agristar do Brasil at its Experimental Station, located in the municipality of Ituporanga (SC). The space has been operating for 11 years and works to search for improvements and innovations in the production of vegetable seeds in general produced in the south of the country.
“The objective of the station, when created, was to be a facilitating means for us to develop new, better, more resistant and productive vegetable materials, adapted to the climate of the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. In addition to this initial intention, We also seek other very important institutional functions, such as having a company branch closer to customers, thus making strategic support for producers more effective”, explains the coordinator of the experimental station and specialist in Rural Business, Rubens Deuttner.
Deuttner adds that in the past, the station operated practically with a full line. However, due to the growth in demand for some specific products, of greater economic importance for the company in the region, the focus is currently on onion crops, as Santa Catarina is an important production hub in Brazil, tomatoes and cucumbers. industry.
